About the Role
As a Health Information Specialist at ProCare Health, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and accessibility of patient health records. Working remotely across our Release of Information operations, you'll be the trusted steward of sensitive health data — ensuring that every record request is handled with accuracy, speed, and full HIPAA compliance.
This role goes beyond data entry. You'll be part of a team that directly impacts patient care outcomes by ensuring the right information reaches the right people at the right time. If you're organized, detail-driven, and passionate about making a difference in healthcare — we want to hear from you.

By joining ProCare Health, you're stepping onto a high-performing, values-driven team tackling some of healthcare's most complex problems with technology-forward solutions.
What You'll Do
- Receive and process requests for patient health information in accordance with company and facility policies, procedures, and HIPAA standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all privileged patient information across multiple platforms using a dual-monitor setup.
- Prepare new patient charts by gathering and digitizing documents from paper and electronic health record sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Respond to inbound/outbound calls and record requests from patients, insurance companies, and attorneys — retrieving and transmitting records appropriately.
- Apply medical privacy regulations consistently to guard against unauthorized disclosure, and ensure records are assembled in standard order.
- Generate reports for management, assist with administrative duties such as fax handling, mail, and data entry, and support training of HIS I associates.
- Act in a lead capacity with staff on general questions, new hire onboarding, and developmental training initiatives.
- Participate in project teams and committees to advance operational strategies, and exceed Level 1 productivity expectations.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED; must be 18 years of age or older.
- Comfortable working in a high-volume, production-driven environment with the ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer proficiency and comfort with standard office equipment — phones, fax machines, printers, and multi-platform systems.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills in English; strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail.
- Detail and quality oriented as it relates to accurate, compliant medical record information.
- Ability to commute between locations as needed and work overtime during peak seasons when required.
